How I work with
product teams.

I'm Samuel Sum — a product designer based in Vancouver. I’m usually at my best when a product problem has unclear ownership, competing constraints, or several teams moving at once. I start by understanding the business goal, the customer moment, and the operational reality behind the request.

At TELUS, I spent 5 years designing across e-commerce, B2B, billing, self-serve, and in-store systems. My process is collaborative and pragmatic: align on the decision that needs to be made, map the dependencies, test the risky assumptions, and shape a solution that teams can actually build and measure.

Outside of work, I'm usually watching anime, cooking whatever looks interesting, or looking for a good craft beer. Currently rewatching Vinland Saga.
